From newcomer to local.

Settling in is so much more than finding a place to live. When you book your home through Fjord Cowork, all integration support and programme activities are included — there are no additional programme fees.

Weekly activities

We organise weekly activities such as hiking, skating, cross-country skiing, sledding, local events and shared meals. The goal is simple: you should not have to figure out your new surroundings alone

We create opportunities to meet people who already live here through local events, volunteering, activities and informal introductions between newcomers and locals.

Join local clubs and activities

Sports clubs, associations and community groups are an important part of village life. We help you and your family find activities that fit your interests and connect with the right people.

School and kindergarten

Children can attend the local school or kindergarten during your stay. We help you find the right contacts and understand the practical steps.

In Norway, children attend the school connected to the area where they live. If you stay in Geiranger, your children attend Geiranger skule. Families staying in Eidsdal or Norddal use Verdsarvskulen in Eidsdal.

Winter life

From February to April, you experience the villages during their quietest and most challenging season. Cross-country skis, skates and other outdoor equipment are available, so you can join in without buying everything yourself.

Volunteering and contributing locally

Participants are encouraged to take part in local projects, events or volunteering. It is a natural way to meet people, contribute and become part of the community.

Finding a permanent home

Your Fjord Cowork home is a temporary landing place. If you want to stay, we can point you towards local contacts and housing resources for longer-term rentals or buying, including Husbanken and Opplev Fjord.

Work and local opportunities

Your remote job should remain your main source of income, as local jobs are limited. We can still help you connect with local businesses and explore vacancies on FINN.

Practical help if you decide to stay

We can point you towards relevant local services, contacts and information if you decide to stay longer. Fjord Cowork does not handle visas, registrations or other official paperwork on your behalf.

From temporary resident to local

After two or three months, you will have experienced winter, everyday routines and local life first-hand — giving you a much clearer idea of whether this could become home.
