Living in heritage landscape
Fjord Cowork is designed for remote workers and families who are curious about building a life in Western Norway.
In the UNESCO World Heritage landscape around the Geirangerfjord, we invite you to experience everyday life as a local, to see if this could become your new home.
You only pay for housing. Coworking, weekly activities and help connecting with local life are all included. A minimum stay of two months is required.
The programme runs from February to April.
A way into local life
Moving somewhere new is easier when you already have people to meet and things to join. Fjord Cowork creates those connections through weekly activities with participants and locals — from hikes and skiing to volunteering, local events or sharing a meal.
We also help families connect with school or kindergarten, local sports and community life. Outdoor equipment such as skis and skates is available too, so you can join in from day one.
The villages of Fjord Cowork
Geiranger
Geiranger offers two very different rhythms: lively summers and wonderfully quiet winters. Around 200 people live here year-round, surrounded by spectacular nature, yet with restaurants, hotels, a spa, a shop, its own school and kindergarten and the Fjord Cowork workspace.
Eidsdal
Eidsdal has a lively local community and around 400 residents in the wider village and valley. The local school welcomes children from both Eidsdal and Norddal, and the ferry across the fjord keeps Ålesund within reach. In winter, Eidsvatnet often becomes a natural skating rink.
Norddal
The idyllic and peaceful valley of Norddal is the smallest and quietest of the three, with around 150 residents and a close-knit farming community. You will find a kindergarten, a grocery shop and nature right outside your door. If calm village life appeals to you, Norddal might fit best.
