Booking & Cancellation Policy

We understand that plans can change. This policy explains how bookings, payments and cancellations work when booking accommodation through Fjord Cowork.

Who are you booking with?

Fjord Cowork is operated by Stiftinga Geirangerfjorden Verdsarv (organisation no. 994 048 015).

Fjord Cowork facilitates bookings between participants and local accommodation providers. Fjord Cowork is not the accommodation provider or landlord. The individual host or accommodation business offering the home is the Accommodation Provider and is responsible for providing the accommodation as agreed.

Participants choose their accommodation after being approved for the Fjord Cowork programme. Before any payment is required, your booking email will clearly identify:

  • the accommodation you have selected;
  • the name of the Accommodation Provider;
  • the agreed rental period and price; and
  • the applicable booking and cancellation terms.

By making the first payment, you confirm your booking and accept these terms.

Payments

For practical reasons, Fjord Cowork administers the accommodation payments on behalf of the Accommodation Provider. Payment to Fjord Cowork therefore counts as payment towards your accommodation booking.

  • The first month is paid in advance to confirm your booking.
  • The second month is paid upon arrival.
  • If you have booked a third month, the third month is paid at the beginning of your second month.

Coworking, Fjord Cowork programme activities and integration support are included for participants and are not charged as a separate programme fee.

Cancellation by the participant

If you need to cancel your stay, please let Fjord Cowork know by email as soon as possible.

If you cancel:

  • 30 days or more before arrival: you receive a full refund of your first payment.
  • 14–29 days before arrival: 50% of your first payment will be refunded.
  • Less than 14 days before arrival or in case of a no-show: the first payment is non-refundable.
  • Once your stay has started, payments due for the first two months are non-refundable, as participation in Fjord Cowork requires a minimum stay of two months.

If you have booked a third month and decide to shorten your stay, please let us know before the third-month payment becomes due.

If the accommodation becomes unavailable

If the Accommodation Provider cancels your confirmed booking or is unable to provide the accommodation as agreed before your arrival, Fjord Cowork will help look for a suitable alternative.

You are not required to accept alternative accommodation. If no suitable alternative is available, or you choose not to accept the proposed alternative, accommodation payments already made through Fjord Cowork for the unavailable stay will be refunded.

Problems during your stay

The Accommodation Provider is responsible for the accommodation itself, including its condition and the facilities and services agreed as part of the accommodation booking.

If there is a problem with your accommodation, please contact the Accommodation Provider as soon as possible so they have an opportunity to resolve it. You may also contact Fjord Cowork, and we will assist with communication where reasonably possible.

Fjord Cowork remains responsible for the services it provides itself, including the administration of the Fjord Cowork programme.

Nothing in this policy limits any rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under applicable Norwegian law.

Exceptional circumstances

We know unexpected situations can happen. In exceptional circumstances, please get in touch and we will always try to find a reasonable solution.
